Functionality

File Browser or file manager provides a user interface to work with file systems. Some of the most common operations performed on files or groups of files are: create, edit, rename, move, copy, delete, search/find etc. Files are typically displayed in a hierarchy. Some file browsers may even contain features such as forward and back navigational buttons.

A folder is an entity in a file system which contains a group of files and other directories. A typical file system may contain thousands of files, and directories help organize them by keeping related files together. A directory inside another directory is called a subdirectory. Together, the directories form a hierarchy or tree structure.
