Value List Items

The Value List Items Editor is designed to manage values and their descriptions that are used in value lists for attributes.

See the Basic Actions page for more info on standard actions with value list items (search, sort, edit, delete etc.).

Create Value List Item

To add a new value list item:

1. Click the Create button.

   Note

   If accessed from the Value Lists page, the Value List field is prefilled with the ID of the relevant list.

   

2. Enter the Value into the relevant field.

3. Enter language-specific descriptions for the value, if needed.

4. Enter a Description Fallback that will be used if there is no language-specific description. This fallback may be a Term. See the Terms section for details.

5. Select the Is Default checkbox if the value should be used as the default in the value list.

6. Select a Status for the value list item (optional). The list of available statuses is configured on the Status page.

7. Enter the Order No (optional) that determines the alphanumerical order in which the values appear in the drop-down list on the Attributes tab of the Product Editor.

   If value list items have an Order Number assigned, the values (after terms are resolved) in the attributes’ grid will be sorted:

   - By Order Number
     - Alphabetically by Value (if order numbers are equal)
   - By Value
     - Numerically
     - Uppercase alphabetically
     - Lowercase alphabetically

8. Click Save to save the entered value list item.

   Caution

   After saving, it is not possible to change the value list to which the value list item is assigned.
